Country is passing through worst energy and economic crises and instead of solving genuine issues government is wasting its energies against Judiciary. Recent disqualification of Prime Minister Gilani proves that distance are widening between government and judiciary which is very unfortunate. Despite court orders Gilani had refused to write a letter to Swiss courts regarding corruption cases of President. Only few days ago in supreme court government appointed Attorney Journal used low level language against Chief Justice and Judiciary.
True reality is that due to government weak position and involvement of government key personalities now corruption is becoming part and parcel of daily lives of normal people. Unfortunately all stories of corruption are coming from government own camp. According to reports which presented to Chief Justice of Pakistan during his Baluchistan province visit ninety percent of Baluchistan Ministers are involved in corruption and ransom cases. One government key minister is in jail after his involvement in Hajj corruption cases. Prime Minster own son is facing investigation in corruption cases. Supreme court rejected government power rental agreements after serious allegation of corruption and ordered investigation against Minister of Water and Power. Unfortunately due to government interference corruption investigation agencies has highly politicized these days.
Chairman of National Accountability bureau has close links with government. Several top official who has good reputation has lost their positions and can’t work independently. Parliament has become rubber stamp these days and not able to play its role against raising corruption. In this dark scenario Supreme Court is only hope of people instead of joining hands against raising corruption government is raising pressure against Judiciary which is very unfortunate.
