Overview
Located in the southern province of Sindh, Karachi is a huge metropolis who was the capital of Pakistan before Islamabad. Formerly a small fishing village, the city has now developed into Pakistan’s most important commercial and industrial center. Acting as international trade, transport and manufacturing hub and being the largest port of the country, Karachi today is the number one business City of Pakistan.
Even after facing major infrastructural and socio-economic challenges, the radically expanded population and advancing economy transformed the city into a well-developed financial capital. Along with having headquarters of all major banks, the city even has its own stock exchange- the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) and a Expo Center of global importance.
Although not the most interesting place touristically, Karachi is ethnically and religiously a diverse city with fast paced life-style. With innumerable opportunities for shopping, nightlife and eating out, there is a lot to do and see here. Its wide sunny beaches, deep-sea fishing, yachting, golf, horse racing and pleasantly mild climate all-year round will surely take your heart away.
This vibrant and bustling city is still sprouting into a further mega business center of the world.
