The personality of Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Aslam Shekhupuri does not need any introduction. He has done a lot for Islam and has determination to do still more. May Allah bless him and give him long healthy life and prosperity. Allah has given us an opportunity to be benefited from him. Let us go through the introduction of Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Aslam Sheikhupuri by his own pen:
My name is Muhammad Aslam Sheikupuri. I was born in an unknown village Chuck No.116. At the moment I’m about 45 years of age. Our family was a landlord family. My father, late Muhammad Hassan was a farmer. He studied in school for four or five years but he did not get any religious education. When I was at the age of three, Polio attacked on my both legs and I became handicapped. I was admitted in a school in the village. When I was in class three, an spiritual leader had came to our mosque. I started reading the Holy Quran by sight (Nazirah). I was very intelligent that time. Imam Masjid forced my father to have me learn the Holy Quran by heart i.e. to encourage me to become a Hafiz e Quran. My father agreed to it. Imam Masjid started teaching the Holy Quran along with four more children. We used to learn the Holy Quran from morning till night.
By the Grace of Allah I memorized the Holy Quran within eleven months. The other children quit one by one without completing the Holy Quran. After completion of the Holy Quran, I was admitted in a school at Lahore. Then I came to Karachi. I studied for five years in “Jaami’a tul Uloom Allama Binnori Town” I learnt Hadith from “Madressah Nusratul Uloom” Gujranwala. I am proud; I was educated by a host of learned scholars out of which following personalities I can never forget.

After receiving lot of invaluable knowledge from the above respectable teachers I proceeded to my own village with a hope to convert the people there into a true Muslim community. But I am very sorry to say that due to some illiterate feudal lords and greedy spiritual leaders I could not achieve my goal. I became was very disheartened and after one year, I came back to Karachi. Here in Karachi, I taught the Holy Quran, Hadith, Fiqah (Islamic knowledge) and principles of Fiqah for eighteen years. However, from my childhood I was interested in writing, therefore, I decided to write and compose (the books). I left Madressah and made close relationship with my pen. Till now following books have been published:
1. NIDA-e-MIMBER-WA-MEHRAB
It consists of six volumes, which already have been issued. There are about 73 topics on different sermons and speeches in them.
2. PACHAAS TAQREERAIN (FIFTY SPEECHES)
It consists of two volumes. These are the collections of hundred speeches for the students of Islamic schools and colleges.
3. KHAZINA (KHAZEENA)
It is a kind of literary album and very interesting book. It is full of very valuable advises and old sayings. You will find poetry, jokes, literary points and a lot of questions on Islamic knowledge.
4. DARS SAHIH MUSLIM
In this book I have started translating Sahih Muslim’s portion of Arabic key, written by respectable Maulana Muhammad Taqi Osamni. Only one volume has been completed and published so far.
5. BADOON KA BUCHPUN (CHILDHOOD OF FAMOUS PEOPLE)
This book consists of stories of the childhood of famous and learned personalities, poets and writers.
6. USH-SHAAQ E QURAN KAY IMAN AFROZ WAAQIAT (THE FAITH ENKINDLING EVENTS OF LOVERS OF QURAN)As the name indicates, it contains the events of our Holy Prophet’s life and other lovers of the Holy Quran, Recitation of the Holy Quran and services of the Holy Quran.
7. UNDERSTANDINGS FOR HUFFAZ AND HAFIZAT. TUFHIMAAT BARA-E-HUFFAZ-WA-HAFIZAT.Basically this book is written for educating and teaching boys and girls who are learning the Holy Quran by heart. A part of this contains summaries of 114 Surahs explained in very easy and simple way.
8. TASHEEL AL BAYAN FI TAFSEER UL QURAN
This explanation of the Holy Quran is in a new style in Urdu language. It is arranged according to the topics. In which a verse or a few verses taken and select a topic and explain the same in very easy Urdu. After the translation, each verse has its own explanation. Later on few nice advises given to understand the Current topic. It also mentioned the solution of problem concerned.
I have three cordial wishes. First. Allah May Allah be happy with me, second, my children should be obedient and virtuous, third, to do the best services for the Holy Quran and for its publication. I have started writing the explanation of the Holy Quran with the same zeal.
Now ‘Lesson of the Holy Quran and Hadith’ is conducted regularly at Madani Musjid North Nazimabad after Maghrib Prayers on every Sunday. For this lesson few most sincere friends are devoting every effort to keep it going. I request you all to pray for them too,
too.
In the sequence of lesson, first I have explained the summary of Surah Kahaf. Then I explained Surah Hujraat in detail. Now I have started Para ‘Amma. As soon as Para ‘Amma will be completed Inshallah I will start from Surah Fatiha till the completion of Quran.
I use to write columns in Daily Islam and Weekly Dharb-e-Momin. Inshallah these columns also will be uploaded on Internet.
In the end I would like to tell all brothers and sisters that nothing is better than the wealth of faith (Iman) This is the best gift from Allah. Please take care of the faith. Try to live on faith. Always pray to Allah to end our lives on faith. Also take special care of your children and give them the best teaching s of Islam. Try to be close with the Holy Quran. Always be proud to be the slaves of Holy Prophet. Kindly do not forget all the Muslim brothers and sisters of the world and myself in your good prayers.
