ALEPPO (23/02/2012): More mass destruction in Aleppo. This is the neighbourhood of al-Ard al-Hamra this morning, where one of the "Scuds" hit last night. The number of dead and missing is estimated at more than 130. This scene was repeated in Tariq al-Bab, another poor area of the city probably hit by a Scud-type missile last night. Several buildings were also destroyed in al-Maadi, close to the city centre, which came under rocketfire.
The Syrian National Coalition has announced it's non-attendance in upcoming talks in Moscow, Washington and the so-called "Friends of Syria" meeting in Rome. This is to protest against the continuing international silence while "hundreds of civilians have been killed by Scud missile strikes. Aleppo, the city and the civilisation, is being destroyed systematically." Of course no chemical weapons were used, so it doesn't count.
