One killed when US navy ship fired

According to the media, a fisherman was killed and three others were wounded when a US navy ship fired at their small boat in Persian Gulf. According to US officials, the US ship verbally warned the smaller boat when it was several hundred meters away to keep its distance from the ship, and also fired some warning shots before the real shooting. But people on the small boat claim that no prior warning was received before the real shooting commenced, which killed one fisherman and wounded three others.

India demanded an immediate investigation after the killing of its national. Tension is high in Persian Gulf after new sanctions imposed by the European Union on Iran. Iran threatened to close the main oil supply route and continues to perform military exercises to close the vital oil shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz. Mounting tension in the Gulf is also harming the oil market.
