Recent ruling of Supreme Court of Pakistan about rigging in previous election is showing harsh reality of Pakistan politics. Unfortunately despite hard voyage towards democracy secret funds, agencies influence in political parties and rigging in elections is true reality of Pakistan politics. Recent decision of Pakistan supreme court is also showing that in county long year history independent and brave Judiciary is working in country. In its ruling Supreme Court directed the government to take action against former army chief General Aslam Beg and former chief of Inter Services Intelligence General Asad Durrani for violating the Constitution by manipulating the election results and distributing millions of rupees through Meharan Bank among corrupt politicians.
Meharan Bank scandal is also a tragic chapter of Pakistan political history. Unfortunately big political parties are still not able to develop real political culture in their own parties no concept of party elections in big parties and only few families are running party affairs since long time. Instead of democratic means political parties are always looking other means to come in power and mostly depends on army and powerful agencies. Without huge amount of money no one can participate in elections now overhauling of complete election system is crying need of the day.
Due to selfishness of political parties election has become profitable business in these days. According to government own sources 90 percent ministers belong to Baluchistan province are involved in corruption, ransom and other illegal activities. Several member of parliament used fake degrees to participate in elections and after supreme court ruling several lost their seats in miserable conditions but these members are still a part of their political parties. Government allocates several million rupees for media personalities also to control media in its favor. Due to increasing corruption now political parties are losing trust of people which is very unfortunate.
