Kenya extracts gold from colonial-era mines

Needy Kenyan villagers struggle to extract gold today with their limited means at the mine from which the English mining company Rosterman exploited gold between the years 1930 and 1950 in the Kakamega province of Kenya. Poor workers sell the pure gold they extract for $30 to $40 to foreign companies.
