Massive construction work is going on in the Holy Haram, Makkah. The project to expand the Mataf, the area surrounding the Ka’aba, in order to accommodate more worshippers, is also on and thousands of engineers, labourers are working day and night to achieve their goals as early as possible.
Despite the presence of millions of people, there has not been a single case of stampede. This is mainly because the excellent arrangements and facilities provided by the Saudi government. Credit must also go to thousands of security personnel, medical teams and young volunteers who are working under difficult conditions.
At a time when the mercury is touching above 40 degrees in Makkah, thousands of young volunteers, in their brown uniforms and blue jackets, are trying hard to help millions of people who come from every corner of the world. In this month of fasting, their efforts must especially be appreciated.
It is also the responsibility of every visitor to the holy sites to follow all rules and regulations and co-operate with the volunteers and authorities.
